    2. How do I search for jobs on the MedHunters site?

There are several search methods available on the MedHunters site, so it’s easy to find the right job for you. You can search by job title, location or even by lifestyle.

    Search by Job Title

To search for a job in a specific field, either click on the icon “Search Jobs” at the top left-side of the site, or use the tabs along the top of the page.

The Job Search tool lets you choose your career: Nursing, Allied Health, MD or Other. Clicking one of these options takes you to a page dedicated to jobs in your chosen field. You can view all jobs in your field or narrow your search by choosing specific specialties. You can also view our Quick Picks: highlighted opportunities within each category.

In addition, MedHunters allows you to search by employer. View the list of employers who post jobs on MedHunters and see the locations in which they are located.

As you search the jobs, you can further narrow your search by choosing a specific Location or Lifestyle. Once you decide your search is narrow enough, select the “See all these jobs” option under Quick Picks. You will be presented with list of jobs and a short description of each job as shown below. If the results aren't what you want, you can use the “New Search” or “Other Careers” options in the top right to change your search.

    Search by Location

The search by locations functions very similar to the search by Job Title, but the broad categories are places, rather than job titles. Each successive click will narrow down your selection, as illustrated below. Some searches will take more clicks to get down to the city level. You can further narrow the search by specifying a Title or a Lifestyle.

Once you decide your search is narrow enough, select the “See all these jobs” option under Quick Picks. You will be presented with a list of jobs and a short description of each job as shown below. If the results aren't what you want, use the “New Search” or “Other Locations” to change your search. We've also added a useful feature that allows you to expand your search slightly: choose “Show Nearby Jobs.” This will show you other jobs within about an hour's drive of the chosen location (not counting bad traffic, of course).

    Search by Lifestyle

This type of search is unique to MedHunters. The lifestyle breakdown lets you select they type of place in which you want to live: sunny, coastal, urban…

Why lifestyles? We want to give you options for searching that you may not have considered. For example, you may be an avid skier and pass up your dream job in Nevada, because you didn't realize that the job was a short distance from the great skiing at Tahoe. Or maybe you're a huge symphony and opera buff, and didn't realize that Denver has the second-largest performing arts center in the USA, so you skipped on applying for that great job because you thought Denver was only for skiers. Perhaps you don't care where you work, as long as it's a job you'll love and the location has great golfing nearby.

To search for a job by lifestyle is easy. Simply choose your lifestyle and narrow your search by your job title or the locations that interest you. Once you decide your search is narrow enough, select the "See all these jobs" option under Quick Picks. You will be presented with a list of jobs and a short description of each job as shown below.

    Important Notes to Remember:
    • You may search all three ways – by Title, Location, and Lifestyle – simultaneously.
    • You can search for a job whether or not you are a registered user or logged in to the system, but to apply for a job, you need to be a registered user and you need to log in.
    • Click on the appropriate links to learn more about how to register for the site, or apply for a job.

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

From the HEALTHeCAREERS home page click on “Candidate.” From the MedHunters home page click on "Sign Up." 7. What should I put in the Career Objective box?

A Career Objective is a brief summary of what type of job you’re looking for or what skills you have to offer. Some candidates include what they're looking for and the city or region they're interested in. For example, "Seasoned executive interested in joining a large group. Miami only."

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

    8. Why haven't I received responses for jobs I applied to?

While we agree that prospective employers should always contact candidates who reply to their ads, we cannot control this. Each hiring entity has its own process of reviewing résumés and screening the best candidates for their position. Some don't believe that they are obligated to contact prospective candidates who reply to their ad.

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

    9. Can HEALTHeCAREERS Network and MedHunters provide information about a confidential ad?

We are not a recruiting entity; we are simply an advertising medium. Some of our employers wish to place job listings confidentially. This means that they don't want the name of their company revealed and will only accept applications via the Web site. We are unable to provide additional employer information beyond what is published in the job listing. You may contact the employer by submitting your résumé by clicking "Reply online to this job" or “Apply Now.”

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

    10. How can I know who is looking at my résumé?

We allow our clients to view résumés without revealing their identity, similar to allowing candidates to view job postings without revealing their identity.

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

    11. What information about me is visible to registered employers?

If you reply online to a specific job using our online response tools, the employer will see your profile information (name and contact information), as well as your message and/or résumé that was included in the response.

If you have registered only to receive job alerts, the only individuals who can see your "profile" (name, address, phone numbers, e-mail address) are you and the folks in our office.

If you post your résumé and you do NOT check the box to "Keep your profile confidential", employers with current job postings within the disciplines to which you post your résumé will be able to view your profile (name and contact information) as well as your online résumé. However, you can also post your résumé "confidentially" by checking the "Keep your profile confidential" box when posting your résumé. If you do this, the employer will not see your profile (name and contact information), however they will see your résumé. If you paste your name and contact information into the body of your résumé, it will be visible to the employer. If you are concerned about the possibility of your current employer recognizing you based upon your posted résumé, we advise against doing this.

    Back to Candidate-Specific Questions

    12. Is there a charge for this service?
